It’s SoMo Time Again

Social Movement is a guided experience rooted in playful movement experiments and music. Imagine a movement class with good music gets it on with a creative mindfulness playground … and births delightful, glowing kinesthetic artists.

One participant said, “It’s hard to explain -- because it’s unique. All I know is that time flies by, and I leave feeling like a kid again and more open to the people in my life.”

SoMo came on the scene in 2018, formerly known as Movement Lab, and was offered as an in-person event in Oakland, California until 2020. We had co-facilitators (s/o to Briana Bellamy 💕), live DJs (s/o to Ras K’dee 🧡 + Ajman Thrower 🧡), and attendees from 5 to 85 years old.

Some came for a solid workout, while others participated from chairs as they healed.

Social Movement is highly adaptive -- the “movement recipes” are accessible for every body, regardless of age or physical ability.

During the height of the pandemic, we moved our groove over to the zoom room. Inherently less social, but a fan favorite nonetheless. One participant got her move on every week without leaving her bed.

How about we kick things off with a WEEKLY ONLINE VERSION, to include MOBsters around the world? And if there is demand, I am open to a local, in-person edition.

Whaddya say? Are you curious what these weird movement recipes might do for you? 🤨
