Co-Generating Our Playland
The DJ has the crowd moving…
…and then the walls start to come alive with colorful dancing silhouettes. These bodies of projected light are moving to the music, shortly after having been recorded in a private space in another room.
The main space fills with anonymous shadows of the humans in attendance.
We can dance with the shadows of those who wanted to be met. We can dance with our own shadow. We can revel in each individual contribution that builds a playfully captivating environment personalized to the collective.
Meet My Shadow, analog
Revealing Traces of Our Intersections
Meet My Shadow is a simple yet impactful collaborative art-making experience. The participant is invited to find a partner, strike a pose, and get traced. The only rule is that a new pose must intersect with at least one existing silhouette in the mural. This intersection is filled with color.
And voila, a new shadow, for all to meet.
Throughout the event, the artwork evolves to reveal the intersecting imaginations of the collective.
Spice Star
SPICE STAR was a commission by No Immigrants No Spice, intended to provide an interactive art experience at the organization’s inaugural fundraiser, BBQ Without Borders.
